Photos taken in camera on film no digital manipulation.

Artist Statement:Layer, Layers, Layer(s)

This series explores organic forms from many perspectives. Breathtaking in their tonality and vibrant colors, Brad Carlile's photographic series "Layer(s) Organic" explores natural forms from many perspectives. All work is done 'in camera' on film with no digital manipulation. The images start as a visual ragtime and become more. Many images are titled similar to ragtime songs.

The images are built up from chromatically-distinct exposures from different vantage points. All work is done 'in camera' on film with no digital manipulation. The images start as a visual ragtime and become more. Many images are titled similar to ragtime songs.

I use a medium-format camera and print on a large scale to enhance the impact of the colors. In addition, the intriguing details of the interactions between colors draw one into an intimate distance to explore. To me, it is important that the images in this series impact the viewer both from across the room as well as under very close inspection.
