Nov 11th, 2007 by Brad
Boxlift Buildings Open Studios show is this weekend at 333 NE Hancock Street is open Saturday November 10 4-10PM and Sunday November 11 12-5 PM. In addition to the open studios the hallways are filled with works to form a group exhibition that was curated by Mark Woolley of Mark Woolley Gallery (817 SW 2nd Ave, Portland OR).
The image on the right is “Night Trees” by Pat Clemens which is one of the paintings that greets one on the way up the steps. It is a stong work.
I first met Kelly Kerwick at the 2005 AAF show in New York, when she was working for Alysia Duckler Gallery. (my review of that AAF show in the PORT blog)
Sarah Kamsler’s “Back and Forth Forever” www.kamsler.net
Eugenia Pardue www.eugeniapardue.com
Natasia Chan www.natasiachan.com
The final image on the right is from Pat Clemens’ studio. I wasn’t the only one commenting on the interesting self-portrait above the doorway.
Participating open studio artists include Ballyhoo Photography, Natasia Chan, Pat Clemens, Compass Rose Studios, Erin Galvez, Sarah Kamsler, Kelly Kerwick, Una Kim, Josie Koehne, Nicole Linde, Mulysa Melco, Manuel Mondejar, Eugenia Pardue, Julianna Paradisi, Ellen Shade, smashbox photography, John Sulahian, and Scott Sutton.
