Really lame ending to Interpol show in Portland
Oct 20th, 2007 by Brad
Interpol, so what happened to you? I was completely into all of your shows during your past visits. And now this? It was a pretty good 1 hour set, but honestly the older songs seemed much tighter than the new songs. But probably should start with the ending. Lame. 10 minutes after the set and before any encore, Paul Banks (singer) and Sam Fogarino (drummer) returned onstage to say “we really wanted to play our encore, but one of us is too fucked up. Sorry.”
If you are in entertainment and don’t feel like it then deal. It was like a horrible desert after a satisfactory meal, it just pissed on everything. So I almost don’t know what more to say about the show. If people in Portland weren’t as cool and nice you would have been loudly booed like the couple from ex-New Yorkers besides me were doing. For more on the show see: http://blog.oregonlive.com/aenow/2007/10/indie_music_interpol_subdued_a.html
I really want to see good things happen with Interpol. Get it together guys or fade like so many bands.
