Rosefriend demolition
Jun 17th, 2007 by Brad
The 1910 Rosefriend Apartment building was coming down as the 1883 Ladd Carriage house was being moved up the street. Both of these are tied to the creation of the Ladd Towers designed by Ankrom Moisan.
Here are images from the demo of the Rosefriend Apartment Building.

The firm in charge of this demolition work was Elder Demolition, who worked to chew away at the building with a “long stick”. Everyone working on this demo was very friendly and very informative.

Another view on this project by Portland Architecture Blog written by Brian Libby. Brian has some images of the demolition as well.
The main reason for my being there was not to shoot these digital images but, the same as my Ladd Carriage move stint, to create some fine art images with my medium-format film camera. At some point hopefully some images may become part of one of my portfolios. www.bradcarlile.com. All of this means I should get busy and get them developed.
